2019 Wedding Hair Trends

Today we give you four of the most popular and gorge bridal hairstyles we’re seeing right now. The beauty of these is that you can make them your own and modify away to achieve a look you’re really comfortable with, that makes you feel like your most bridal and beautiful self!

Romantic Textured Pony

There is a reason Jlo lives in a pony- the style feels put together and laid back all at once. Great if you want your hair off the face, but aren’t quite ready to go for the full on “up-do”. Lower to middle placement on the back of the head is popular right now; higher placement on the head will make you look like a barbie princess in the best way possible. The key to making this pony wedding-worthy is to cover the elastic with hair and/or add a sparkly hair ornament.

The Low bun

At first mention of the low bun, you may think.. ok kinda boring, but think again! The low bun is such a versatile style because it can be very traditional, sleek and chic, or textured and modern looking. A center part looks current, volume and texture on top looks classic. You can really make it your own and be sure your hair will stay put all night long with this secure style! Looks beautiful and romantic with a few tendrils framing the face.

Twisted and Textured

In 2019 we are seeing a few less braids and a few more twists! Whether they’re part of an updo or a half-up half-down style, textured twists will make your style feel current.

Romantic Waves

Again, romantic waves can come in so many different styles from a Hollywood glam type wave, to something looser and less structured, but not quite beachy. Either way, make sure you have the hair thickness and length to support this look (or you’ve added in those extensions). Romantic waves of any type will never look dated!

Summer Hair Inspo

With summer around the corner, it’s a great time to try out a new cut or style. Here’s some trending styles ranging from sophisticated to fun for summer 2019!

As opposed to what’s been trending in braids the last five or so years - the messy boho braids and deconstructed fishtails - this summer’s braids are sleek, tight and polished. Bonus, these types of braids take much less work and skill to create! Pro tip: braid your hair when it’s half wet and you wont have to use much product to get the sleek look, finish with a little hairspray or shine enhancing spray to set and gloss.

The “wearable” wet look. This style is normally trickier than it looks to pull off, and doesn’t work for everyone, but this looser and kind of half wet look is easily achievable by doing a few combs through of a good gel or mousse. Great when you have less than five to spend on your hair.

The sleek and polished look: simple, pretty, sophisticated. Great for keeping hair out of the face when it’s hot and sticky outside.

Hairccessories!! keep it simple or camp it up with this fun summer trend. A silky scarf tied around your pony has been trendy this spring, and you can wear this right into summer as an unexpected way to tie together an outfit or accessorize a beach look.

And lastly, how can we forget the most effortless of all summer looks, the beach wave! Or, what’s being referred to on the runway currently as “natural movement”. Still looks pretty beachy to me, but this is what actually what your hair would look like coming from the beach, not a curling iron.

Happy summer and here’s to many good hair days.

New Year's Eve Party Looks

nye collage .jpg

Whether you’re a makeup minimalist or die hard fan of glitter, New Year’s Eve is a great time to experiment and play with makeup. There are endless possibilities to choose from. You can go classic, with a bold red lip or more exotic with pops of glitter. To help you ring in the new year, we narrowed down the best beauty looks for you to try. Remember, there are no rules when it comes to New Years Eve makeup. Just have fun and let your creativity do the work!

  1. Glitter

glitter eyeshadow.jpg

One of the easiest ways to achieve NYE glam, is by adding some glitter into your current makeup look. No need to spend a ton of money on the most current eyeshadow palette from Sephora. Your local craft store will have tons of fun colors and shapes to choose from. Simply use your fingers to pat some glitter across your eyelids or you can swipe some glitter on the high points of your cheekbones, for some extra sparkle.

2. Red Lipstick

red lipstick.jpg

Red lipstick will instantly add a bit of elegance to your party look. You can go retro with a Hollywood red, bold with matte red stain, or subtle with a sheer tinted gloss. Whatever shade you choose, remember to reapply between sips of champagne.

3. Gem Colored Shadows

purple shadow.jpg

If glitter and red lipstick isn’t your thing, give bold eyeshadow a go. Think emerald green, violet, and sapphire. You can go for an all over wash or add a dash of color with strategically placed liner. Pro tip: For an extra festive look, place a dab of clear gloss over your eyeshadow. It will give you lids a glossy finish that is perfect for ringing in the New Year.

We hope this list inspires you to have fun with your New Year’s Eve makeup. Have fun and we’ll see you in 2019!

Do this tonight, for better hair tomorrow

Our relationship with our hair can be quite a tricky one. Some days it looks great, but more often than not, we find ourselves frustrated with frizz, dryness, or breakage.

Here are a few quick tips and products that will have your hair looking better in no time!

Step 1: Use a wetbrush! The Wetbrush effortlessly brushes through wet or dry hair, without any harsh pulling. When your hair is wet, it is at its most vulnerable state. The Wetbrush gently loosens knots, so it won’t cause any breakage.

Step 2: Stop wrapping your hair in a bath towel! Instead, use a rapid dry towel. Regular bath towels rough up your cuticle which leads to frizz and breakage. The Aquis rapid dry towel absorbs water more quickly and it doesn’t cause any friction on the hair cuticle.

Step 3: Take your vitamins! Vitamins are great at promoting strength in your hair. We love these ones from HUM Nutrition. They are packed full of all natural supplements that promote hair growth, shine, and color protection.
